Young PLAY
The PLAY youth team
Since 2023, PLAY – Creative Gaming Festival has had its own youth team: Young PLAY.
Young people aged 14 and over play an active role in shaping the festival, contributing their perspectives, ideas and interests. They curate their own exhibition space at the festival, for which they are testing games, put their ideas for presenting the games into practice and look after the exhibition during the festival.
Young PLAY also organizes its own program of workshops and stage events, featuring talks, panel discussions and other activities. They can also present their own projects as part of the festival. Anyone who wishes to can also get a taste of other areas of the festival and help out behind the scenes – for example, with technology, design or streaming.
Young PLAY is supported by media educators from the Creative Gaming e. V. initiative. Before the festival, regular digital and in-person meetings take place, where participants plan, discuss, test games and further develop ideas together.
Young PLAY is the place where young people can share their enthusiasm for games with others. They engage in conversation, develop their own perspectives on games and present them to the public. It is meeting place where young people can contribute their interests, shape the festival together and present games as a form of creative and cultural expression
