Game Jam 2026
Want to create your own game but don't have any prior experience or even an idea yet?
You're in luck, because the Game Jam is back at the PLAY Festival this year!
The Game Jam is open to everyone aged 13 and up who enjoys being creative, loves programming, or simply wants to find out what it's like to develop their own game.
But what exactly is a Game Jam? You'll have 5 hours to work in teams – either formed on the spot or with a group of friends – to come up with an idea, designs, or a story based on a given theme. And then … it's time to get started!
Whether you use Pocket Platformer or Unity, one of our laptops or your own, whether you're a pro or a complete beginner – everyone is welcome!
Throughout the workshop, young people from the YoungPLAY team will be there to guide you, answer questions, and help you along the way!
The Game Jam is supported by Jugend hackt, who will be providing laptops for the day.
Participation is free.
And if you'd like to keep working on your game after the Game Jam, explore even more game design possibilities, or couldn't make it to the Game Jam itself, you're warmly invited to join the Jugend Hackt Lab on Saturday, November 28! There, you can continue experimenting, bring your own ideas to life, and try out different tools.
