JUGEND HACKT
Since 2015, Jugend hackt Hamburg has been aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 18 from northern Germany who are passionate about programming and technology. Over the course of a weekend, with the help of volunteer mentors, they work on prototypes, digital tools, and concepts for their vision of a better society. The motto is “Improving the world through code.” The goal is for them to learn how to use their technical skills to solve socially relevant problems or address important issues, find like-minded peers, and build a network. Since 2013, the Germany-wide Jugend hackt program has been organized by the Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland e.V. and medialepfade.org e.V.
