Program

10:00am CET | Der Medienwolf: Take Care of GameBoys for GameGirls (DE/EN)
'Der Medienwolf' shows how, with a little care, old GameBoys can be revived and modded with new displays and battery packs. He has built a personalized GameBoy for his daughter and is slowly introducing her to the old, new world of Nintendo. The exchange can take place in both German and English. Feel free to bring your GameBoys!

11:00am CET | LightFight Games: Playtest neuer Spiele auf der LED-Säule (DE)
New games are being tested on a homemade LED console, which has been specially designed for two players and the cylindrical shape of the hardware. This playtest focuses on alternative input and output media in game development, further game ideas, and thoughts about the future of LED games.

12:00pm CET | Philipp Seelig: Verführt zum Weiterspielen? Dark Patterns in digitalen Spielen (DE)
Free-to-play games shape the everyday lives of young people – but behind almost every title lurk subtle dark patterns that subtly encourage more in-game purchases and longer sessions. In interactive small groups, we expose these tricks, slip into the role of game designers, and develop our own game concepts for user retention, critically reflecting on what fair and transparent game design can look like.

1:00pm CET | Janina Bock: Lesebegleitheft zu The inner world (DE)
The reading companion booklet for The Inner World is designed to support students as they “read/play” the game. It contains internally differentiated questions, tasks, and creative assignments that help students better understand the plot and characters of the story, ultimately promoting literary skills.

2:00pm CET | Olof Jebram: Neue Heimat - ein kreatives Erzählspiel über Mumins und andere Trolle (DE)
It has been raining for hours. You hear a noise on the porch. You go to the door and look out into the night. “Hey, who's there?” Two small eyes, close to the ground, look up at you. “Come on in, would you like some tea?” - We are a strange collection of trolls in a foreign land. We come together and settle in with each other in a little storytelling game. - Tove Jansson's stories often feature homeless trolls (i.e., “people”) who need a place to stay far from home. They arrive with their worries and needs and try to make arrangements.

3:00pm CET | Robin Vehrs: Sloppy Worldbuilding mit wareware (DE)
wareware makes creating worlds and stories child's play; users can create small games in just a few minutes. In the workshop, we will play a chain game, i.e., everyone starts a game and after 5-10 minutes, the game is passed on to the next person in turn. This allows us to try our hand at collaborative, “sloppy” storytelling.

4:00pm CET | Diego Alatorre: il labirinto del castello (EN)
Solve the puzzle: tame her 7 fierce mastiffs and free the Countess of Goriza from the curse that hunts her memory.
