Mona Brandt

Mona is a freelance game and UX designer with years of experience in developing political games, particularly in the field of memory culture. Most recently, she was the lead game designer at the Berlin studio Paintbucket Games, where she led the development of "The Darkest Files," a true crime detective game about the investigation of Nazi crimes in the post-war period. Mona studied at the Babelsberg Film University and the Cologne Game Lab, where she conducted research on video games in Holocaust education, among other topics. Additionally, she was the project leader for the initiative "Remembering with Games" at the Foundation for Digital Game Culture for several years. As a speaker, mentor, and workshop leader, she actively advocates for greater awareness of the importance of representing political issues in games.
