Creative Gaming Studio: Pocket Platformer

Stop by and get started! In the Creative Gaming Studio, you can try out digital and analog games at our open, hands-on stations. You can also let your creativity run wild with our artistic and craft activities. No prior experience is necessary, and all activities are open to visitors of all ages. You can join in at any time.

Many games are appealing because of the combination of visuals and sound. The interactive sound design station focuses on the auditory aspect of video games, our favorite medium.

• Why do some games sound one way and others sound different?

• What do we need to keep in mind if we want to incorporate sounds into games ourselves?

We'll explore all of this at the station. We’ll examine—and listen to—familiar examples and learn about the technical developments behind them. Most importantly, we'll get hands-on experience incorporating sounds and noises into a game to create different moods.

No prior knowledge is necessary, just an interest and an open ear!

Please note: Mornings from Wednesday to Friday are reserved for school classes and groups. You can expect to see them more often at the festival during these times. However, the festival is still open to everyone on these days. Schools and groups must register in advance by email or book a festival visit using the booking tool.
