Maik Helfrich

Maik teaches Game Art and Design at the University of Fine Arts Essen. He works as an artist, game designer, musician and researcher in the fields of Virtual Reality, Serious Playfullnes and experiments with light & sound, video and interactivity, among others.

As part of the annual PLAY Festival team he makes lights shine and TVs flicker. As a DJ for bass-heavy music he keeps them dancing. He also founded a records label with some old friends and, he's a dedicated cyclist and a member of the Chaos Computer Club.
