Accessible gaming – Enabling digital gaming
Gaming is one of the most popular leisure activities today and an important cultural asset. However, many people are still excluded from it or encounter barriers—this is especially true for people with disabilities. In this training course, Nina Kiel, Jürgen Sleegers, and Su-Jin Song (TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences) highlight the biggest barriers to access and, together with Torben Rieckmann (neurodactics GmbH), explain how these can be broken down. The focus is not only on game development practice, but also on the use of digital games in media education to promote participation and inclusion.
