Creative Gaming Studio: Scratch-Lab

Stop by and get started! In the Creative Gaming Studio, you can try out digital and analog games at our open, hands-on stations. You can also let your creativity run wild with our artistic and craft activities. No prior experience is necessary, and all activities are open to visitors of all ages. You can join in at any time.

Your journey to creating your own video game begins at the Scratch Lab at PLAY. Using a block-based programming language and pre-written code snippets, you’ll learn the basics of programming video game content in just a few minutes. Design your own character, animate its first steps, and add sounds. You'll have already taken your first step toward creating your own video game! The best part? You can take the digital content you’ve created with you and start working on it at home right away!

Please note: Mornings from Wednesday to Friday are reserved for school classes and groups. You can expect to see them more often at the festival during these times. However, the festival is still open to everyone on these days. Schools and groups must register in advance by email or book a festival visit using the booking tool.
