Booth of Things

The Booth of Things is our kiosk for your ideas and projects. Here you can invite our audience to talk to you, present something, and introduce your games and projects.

11:00 AM | Playful Coding in an Obstacle Course
(Sascha Bardua, Mosaic Lernparkour)
Join our coding obstacle course to explore how a computer “thinks,” all without a screen. Can you guide a data packet safely over lava flows of ones and zeros? Escape a while-loop? Or build a LEGO house like a computer would? You'll get into the mindset of both a programmer and a computer, learning to navigate physical obstacles that represent different programming concepts, helping you understand and apply them in your own coding journey.

12:00 PM | Live Game Dev & Play: An Interactive TouchDesigner Presentation
(Ben Samuels)
Come and learn about how the visual development platform TouchDesigner- used often for building interactive art experiences and live concert visuals- can be leveraged for creating in person game experiences. If necessary the presentation can be made in german.

1:00 PM | Game Design Meets Learning: Accessible Learning with Mambio
(Torben Rieckmann und Wiebke Nehls, neurodactics GmbH)
This interactive workshop demonstrates how game design can enhance accessibility and support individualized learning, using "Mambio," an app for learning to count and calculate up to 100. Participants, including children, are welcome to try the app and provide feedback. Gain practical insights into educational and design approaches that can make learning processes more accessible and personalized for your own game projects.

3:00 PM | Playtesting MOTHERSHIP
(Carlos BENEDITO BOTELLA)
Creating tutorials for games is one of the most challenging tasks, especially when they are wordless. Inspired by Valve’s 'invisible tutorial' style, the MOTHERSHIP tutorial needs your help to perfect it! You’ll be able to playtest two parts: one on the ground where you’ll learn to master the exploration tools, and another in zero gravity, where movement takes a whole new dimension. Your feedback will be key in shaping the final experience.

4:00 PM | The Giant Has Fallen – Civic Education Through Storytelling
(Olof Jebram)
Together we’ll tell a story and tackle a problem using free-form storytelling as an educational tool.

5:00 PM | Live Exhibit
