PLAY15

From 15th to 19th September 2015, people could play with games in Hamburg! More than 150 events showed the creative potential and emotions that could be found in games. PLAY15 was annually hosted by the initiative Creative Gaming e.V. and proved that games, culture, education, economy, science, and politics went together.

The program was divided into four parts: SEE, DO, TALK, and PARTY: PLAY15 offered exhibitions, workshops, talks, performances, a conference, and many more events that presented the culture of digital games. That year, it became emotional! The topic “emotions and digital games” was the focus: Did artificial intelligences have feelings? How did a game trigger emotions? Like a common thread, emotions led through all the events.

For the first time, the initiative awarded the Creative Gaming Award, which honored the most creative and innovative digital games from Europe.

The expert panel chose from more than 100 submissions from 20 countries, and finally, the winners were announced during the awarding.

PLAY15 took place at venues including: Alsterdamm School of Visual Arts, Terrace Hill, SAE Institute, Metropolis Kino, Bigpoint, Handelskammer InnovationsCampus, Uebel & Gefährlich, Ohnsorg Theater, Nachtasyl, and Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.
