Farid Müller

Media expert for the Green Party in Hamburg's Parliament, he advocated for game development and its companies as early as the 2000s. Hamburg, with its relatively small companies, has been particularly creative, although funding for game development is often lacking.

He has consistently fought for successful support in this area. In addition to games, he has always been passionate about live music clubs, and it is thanks to him that the city's club funding still exists today. With the construction of the Elbphilharmonie, it became clear to him that pop music also needed a place in Hamburg and should be supported by the city. Nowadays, pop is also an integral part of game development.

Farid Müller is very concerned about the situation of the queer community, for which he has made significant strides as the first openly gay parliament member. Of course, he can be seen every year at the Pride Parade, celebrating what has been achieved and fighting for what has yet to be accomplished.

He has long supported the PLAY Festival, primarily a non-commercial games event, and is pleased to see the continued development of this important event for young Hamburgers, focusing on games and their creative evolution, including education.
