Carola Veit
Carola Veit was born in Hamburg-Billstedt in 1973 and has three children. After completing her training as a legal assistant, Carola Veit studied law in Hamburg and passed the legal clerkship and both state examinations. She joined the SPD in 1991, and in 2004, she was first elected to the Hamburg Parliament.
Since 2011, Carola Veit has been the President of the Parliament and represents our city's parliament during visits from state representatives or at events. Her is to protect the rights of the members and the dignity of the parliament, and to maintain order during parliamentary sessions – she is essentially like the admin among the representatives.
She is particularly passionate about promoting young talent. Through projects like "Youth in Parliament," a political simulation game, she invites young people to engage with current challenges and advocate for their own ideas. Those who successfully complete all levels gain enough XP to play an important, for example, in the youth organizations of the parties or in student representation committees.
