Björn Lengwenus
Björn loves to have fun and enjoys chocolate. He has been a school principal in Hamburg for almost 20 years—half of that time at the Alter Teichweg primary and community school, which serves 1,800 students from 86 nations, ranging from preschool to graduation.
He has been playing since he was a child. He learned to create and lead games during over 100 children's and youth trips organized by his chess club and in his training as a game educator at the Remscheid Academy. As an author, he created the award-winning chess software "Fritz und Fertig," the "Game Book" in 2015, and the youth non-fiction book "Glück" published by Carlsen Verlag in 2020.
Once a year, he organizes the largest chess tournament in the world, "Rechtes gegen Linkes Alsterufer," which attracts around 4,000 children to the Hamburg City Hall square.
As a game facilitator, he loves New Games, which created a completely different way of playing together 50 years ago. However, his favorite game remains hide and seek.
